Day 1
Drive from Marrakech to Dades
Start your journey on an unforgettable camel trekking Sahara tour with Omar Adventures, where the journey is as exciting as the destination.
Your adventure begins with a scenic drive from Marrakech to Dades through the incredible Tizi Nichka Pass of the High Atlas Mountains. You will be able to immerse yourself in the incredibly rich culture and heritage of the Berber villages going along the landscape.
As you venture further into the Sahara, be prepared to encounter breathtaking views and scenery that defies nature: lush riverside oases standing proud in the middle of arid surroundings and barren hillsides adorned with ancient Kasbahs that store tales of a bygone era.
After a satisfying lunch, the Sahara camel trekking journey continues to the enchanting Valley of Roses, a fragrant oasis that offers stunning views of the Dades Valley. Here, you'll spend a calm, quiet night, surrounded by the tranquility of the desert, before we begin your Sahara camel trekking adventure.
Day 2
Dades – Merzouga Dunes
Drive from Dades to Merzouga, followed by a camel trek into the Sahara desert.
Day two of your Sahara camel trekking adventure begins with a delicious breakfast at your hotel, allowing you to fuel up and recharge for the adventures ahead.
First, you'll drive to the breathtaking Todra Gorge, where you'll have the opportunity to stretch your legs, take a short walk, and admire the magnificent cliffs.
Next, you'll continue your drive to Merzouga, passing through the picturesque towns of Skoura, Rissany, and Arfoud. Arriving in Merzouga around 4 p.m., you'll have a brief respite before embarking on the highlight of the day: a camel trekking tour into the heart of the Sahara desert.
As the sun begins to set, you'll mount your camel and ride for 1.5 hours through the rolling hills and dunes, immersing yourself in the beauty of the desert landscape. Your destination is a traditional Berber camp, where you'll get to enjoy a spectacular sunset and a delicious dinner under the starry night sky. You will also spend the night in the Berber tents and camps.
Day 3
Merzouga – Ait ben Haddou
Drive from Merzouga to Ait Ben Haddou
Day three of your Sahara camel trekking adventure begins with an unforgettable sunrise over the Merzouga dunes. After capturing this magical moment, you’ll leave the desert camp and embark on a camel trek back to your Auberge.
Here, you can freshen up with a shower and enjoy a hearty breakfast before continuing your journey.
Your next destination is the ancient fortified village of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site. To reach it, you'll drive through the Draa Valley, one of the longest valleys in Morocco, renowned for its stunning landscapes and historic kasbahs.
Arriving in Ait Ben Haddou around 4 p.m., you'll have time to settle in, relax, and get ready. Feel free to explore the village's winding streets, admire its traditional mud-brick architecture, and soak in the rich history that is hidden in every corner.
You will spend your last night of the camel trekking Sahara tour here.
Day 4
Ait ben Haddou – Marrakech
After breakfast, your guide will lead you on a captivating journey through the ancient Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the oldest Kasbahs in Morocco.
Lose yourself in the winding streets, marvel at its well-preserved mud-brick architecture, and learn about its rich history as a strategic trading post and filming location for numerous movies and TV shows.
Then comes the final leg of your Sahara camel trekking adventure as you join the scenic drive back to Marrakech, retracing your route through the breathtaking Tizi Nichka Pass. Upon arrival in Marrakech, you'll have the afternoon free to wander through the vibrant souks, savor delicious street food, or simply relax and reflect on your unforgettable Sahara adventure.

We just finished the 4 day Sahara tour from Marrakech with Omar Adventures and it was fantastic! We only confirmed the tour about a week before we started and Omar was great at setting it up and giving details.
All the hotels/riads we stayed at had amazing views and good food and service. The camel ride was definitely a highlight and felt almost surreal. Our driver Saaid was a great driver, very safe and was friendly and helpful with our little 3yo! It was quite relaxed and we could choose to stop and find a toilet or get food when we needed.
The spacious air con van was also much appreciated.
Overall was a great way to see a fair bit of Morocco and its culture in a short time, would highly recommend Omar and hopefully we can make it back here again☺️
