Winter trekking offers a unique sense of solitude and tranquility. The crowds of summer have dissipated, leaving you to connect with the mountains on a deeper level.

While colder temperatures and snowy conditions require additional preparation and gear, the rewards are more than worth it. The sense of accomplishment upon reaching the summit in winter is unrivaled. Standing atop Mount Toubkal, with a 360-degree view of the snow-draped Atlas Mountains, is an experience that will leave you stunned.

While prior mountaineering experience isn't necessary, a good level of physical fitness is essential. You should be comfortable hiking for several hours each day, with elevation gain. Our guides set a steady pace, and we'll take plenty of breaks. If you have any concerns about your fitness, feel free to discuss them with us before booking.

Winter in the High Atlas Mountains brings cold temperatures, snow, and the potential for strong winds. Daytime temperatures can range from -5°C to 10°C (23°F to 50°F), while nighttime temperatures can drop below freezing. We'll monitor weather conditions closely and adjust the itinerary if necessary for your safety.

We'll stay in comfortable mountain refuges, which offer basic amenities like dormitory-style sleeping quarters, shared bathrooms, and dining areas. While the facilities are simple, they provide warmth, shelter, and delicious meals to fuel your adventure. Please note that we do not provide meals in Marrakesh.

Safety is our top priority. Our guides are certified and experienced in winter mountaineering, and they'll assess the conditions daily to ensure a safe and enjoyable trek. We follow strict safety protocols and carry necessary emergency equipment.

Absolutely! We're happy to customize the itinerary to your interests and preferences. If you'd like to add extra days for exploring Marrakech or other parts of Morocco, we can help you plan additional activities and excursions. Just let us know your wishes, and we'll create a tailored adventure for you.

We believe in fostering a close-knit and intimate Toubkal trekking experience, so we intentionally keep our group sizes small. Typically, our Mount Toubkal winter climbs comprise 2 to 14 participants. This helps enhance the camaraderie among fellow adventurers. It also ensures that everyone receives personalized attention and support from our experienced guides.

With smaller groups, we can adapt the pace to suit individual needs, answer questions more readily, and create a truly tailored experience for every participant. You'll have ample opportunity to get to know your fellow trekkers and forge lasting friendships amidst the stunning backdrop of the High Atlas Mountains.

Tipping is customary in Morocco and a way to show appreciation for the hard work and dedication of your guides and support staff. While not mandatory, it is greatly appreciated. The amount you tip is entirely at your discretion, but a general guideline is 5-10% of the trek cost for your guide and a smaller amount for the muleteers and cook.

Absolutely! Morocco offers a wealth of diverse experiences beyond the High Atlas Mountains. We can help you arrange additional excursions or create a custom itinerary to explore other regions of the country, like the Sahara Desert, the coastal city of Essaouira, or the ancient imperial cities of Fes and Meknes. Feel free to discuss your interests with us, and we'll craft a tailor-made extension to your adventure.
