Tour Details

At 4167 m, Mount Toubkal is the highest mountain in North Africa. The hike to the summit is not difficult or steep, requires no mountaineering experience and the panoramic view from the summit makes the effort totally worth it. To reach the meeting point for this mountain climb, you simply travel 1 and 1/2 hours from Marrakesh where you will arrive at Imil, 1740m. Imlil is a small village in the heart of the High Atlas Mountains. You will be provided a meeting place in Imlil where you will meet your team and start your hike.befor you head to exolre and descover more about Moroccan desert for another 2 days.

Itinerary

Day 1 Marrakech–Imlil 1740m-Toubkal Refuge 3207m
After a transfer to the small village of Imlil you begin your trek heading along the Mizane valley. You first cross the village of Armed, then you join the shrine of Sidi Chamharouch. Here you will have your first break for lunch, before you continue following mule trucks going up into to Toubkal refuge 3207m for overnight and get ready for the following day.

Day 2 Toubkal refuge 3207m–Toubkal peack 4167m –Imlil-Marrakech.
In the early morning you make your attempt on the summit of Jebel Toukbal, the highest peak in Northern Africa. Our route takes us up the south cirque, crossing the stream above the refuge. The walk is relatively straightforward, but the scree and the altitude will make the going quite difficult in parts. The views along the way make the journey more than worthwhile. When you reach the summit you will see that the vistas across the surrounding landscape are quite breathtaking. From here there are unrestricted views in every direction, from the Marrakesh Plain to the High Atlas in the north and as far south as the Anti-Atlas and the Sahara. We will retrace our steps when we return down the mountain and head back to the Toubkal Refuge, where you will have lunch and walk down to Imlil village wher you started from for overnight and get prepared to drive to Sahara on the next day.

Day 3: drive fro Atlas mountains to Zagora
first we cross superb Tizii N’Tichka paas of the high Atlas mountains,you will pass through many Berber villages on the way from Atlas mountains before the landscapes change to many Kasbahs on the hillsides beautiful views on the way as you will have opportunities to stop for taking very nice pictures,after Tichka pass you will visit Ait Benhadou Kasbah its UNSCO world heritage walk around the Kasbah for 1 hour and keep driving to Ourzazate the dor of Sahara for lunch after that you drive through Draa valley to Zogora to ride your camels for 1,30 min from Zagora to your camp for an amazing overnight Under the stars after diner you will enjoy listening to Berber drumms and Learning more about Moroccan cluture.

Day 4: Zagoura-Marrakesh
After viewing the most beautiful sunrise and having breakfast at the camp site you will ride the camels back to the auberge. Drive back to Marrakech, again via Tichka pass.
