Transfer from the airport to your hotel/riad in Marrakech. Walk around Marrakech.
Transfer from Marrakech to Imlil, where you will meet your team (guide, cook, and mule riders), then start your trek. Firstly, you will pass via Mzik Village to go up to Tizi Mzik (2290m) for a nice view of Imlil Valley. You will have lunch under the juniper trees, followed by a walk to Tamsoult (2100m) for an overnight stay. Here, you will enjoy the fantastic views around Azzaden Valley, warm quarters, and a hot shower.
Approx 5 hours of walking
After breakfast, you will hike up to the Gorges of Aghrghiz, cross waterfalls, and go up to Tizi Nglzim (3600m), where you will enjoy a fantastic view of the Atlas Mountains and Toubkal Massif. After a short break and picnic lunch, you will go down to the Refuge of Toubkal for the night. Here, too, you have the chance to have a hot shower. At night, you can also stargaze all you want.
Approx 7 hours walking
Early in the morning, we make our attempt at the summit of Jebel Toukbal, the highest peak in Northern Africa. Our route takes us up the south cirque, crossing the stream above the refuge. The walking is relatively straightforward, but the scree and the altitude will make the going quite difficult in parts. The views along the way make the journey more than worthwhile. When you reach the summit, you will see that the vistas across the surrounding landscape are quite breathtaking. From here, there are unrestricted views in every direction, from the Marrakesh Plain to the High Atlas in the north and as far south as the Anti-Atlas and the Sahara. We will retrace our steps down the mountain and head back to Imlil for the night.
Approx 10 hours of walking
From Imlil to Dades Gorges via Tichka Pass. After your breakfast in Imlil, our driver will pick you up. From there, you will drive to Dades Gorges via Tahnouat, Ait Ourir. Tichka Pass is the highest pass in Morocco; after 45 minutes of driving from this pass, you will arrive at Ait Benhaddou for lunch. After that, you will drive to the Valley of Roses, with beautiful views of the Dades Valley, where you will stay the night.
After breakfast, you drive to Todra Gorge. After a short stop, you will drive on to “Auberge Palais des dunes” at the dunes of Erg Chebbi. You will arrive there around 4 p.m. and, after a short break, ride on camels into the dunes, where you will spend the night in Berber tents. After seeing a beautiful sunset, you will enjoy a fantastic dinner
After viewing the most beautiful sunrise and having breakfast at the campsite, you will ride the camels back to the auberge. From there, it will be a long day driving back to Marrakech, again via Tichka Pass.
Depart at any time you like.
